I sent a copy of my blueprint draft to everyone through angel. I figured I could get a little help uploading it in class Tuesday. Feel free to leave comments here! Sorry to be a pain.
I agree with you a 100% that this blueprint was a pain to the infinite power to upload on the blog; it took me about an hour until I got it, even though it's not perfect. Anyways, regarding your blueprint, I like very much how you color coded each area of testing format (multiple choice, short answer, etc). I also find it interesting that you were able to put math topics under the comprehension section. I wanted to but I couldn't think of something good; maybe you can help me. However, I am confused in your language when you said, "Student can compute perimeter formula within a real life problem." So, does that mean that the student is going to derive the perimeter formuala (which I don't think he/she would do) or does that mean he/she will use the perimeter formula. Also, will he need to know the formuala or are you going to give it to him. Other than, it looks good...nice job!!
I really liked that you color coded your blueprint. It made following along very easy. I really like that although you have some multiple choice and short answer problems, that you are still requiring students to have to explain how they found some of their solutions. I think it's very important for students to be able to explain their thinking. Overall, nice job! :-)
I love the fact that you used color coding, I did not think about that. Using the coding really helped me to understand what you were doing. The way you completed your blueprint makes more sense than mine! Great job!
I also sent my blueprint to angel because I couldn’t get it to show up on my blog correctly. I like that you have students explaining how they came to answer. I feel this will be effective not only to you as a teacher in the way that you know they aren’t just getting the answer by luck but also for the students themselves. Asking them to explain their answers really makes them think about how and why they came to such a conclusion hopefully making the strategy and their understanding of it that much stronger. Good job.
Smart thinking with uploading the document to Angel! I agree with everyone else that the color coding is very effective. I was wondering if there was any type of assessment task you could do that would go beyond application, or maybe your assessment is just to target those lower level skills.
Wow Diana what a great blueprint. I had never thought of color coding the blueprint like you did. I think it is excellent. The colors help to differentiate between different types of questions so when you're actually making the test it would be even easier to create. While I am on the subject of things I would have never thought of, thanks for saying how you sent your blueprint to everyone through angel, I would have never thought of that. Great blueprint
Diana, I do really like the color coded blueprint. I didn't think of that when doing mine. Instead of giving codes for tests and performance task, I should have color coded it. I also agree with your comment on mine about being more precise. I just wanted to create a blueprint and then when I decide what questions and specifically what kind of rubric I will be using for the poems, I can go back and adjust the blueprint. Thank you for your input.
I also really liked the way you did your blue print. It was very creative and informative. I liked the way you had each type form of assessment like multiple choice and short answer in a different color. It really made it easy to read. I also liked how you had the percentages by each one of the different sections. Nice job.
